Wicca Official Worldwide Community of Pagans Wiccans & Neopagans

Wicca Wiccans Pagans and Free Souls.. live different.. be Neopagan!

I am forty nine just joining. I have been pagan all my life, was forced to go to Christian church, ............and really did not care for that at all. My life is centered around my immediate family, and my extended pagan friends. I live in the Ozarks. Great fishing, and swimming holes, lots of natural springs, and bathing springs. Nice to be here.

Hi AJSwicca, I'm also 49... not quite over the hill yet, but getting closer to the top where I have a really nice view.
HI, you and I are the very same age, I started a group for gray haired pagans a few weeks ago. I did go to a Catholic church as a child. My grandmother practiced an odd form of wicca, where she did some magic and divination but never called it that. I live just north of Boston, very close to but not in Salem. I can practice openly, while so many others can not. The Ozarks sound nice, can you be open there or must you hide your faith?

Blessed be, Jan
I agree. At 54 and looking back, I hope that those in their 30's and 40's recognize that they are in the prime of life and enjoy and make use of it. I suspect you still feel 24 because you have remained curious and adventurous and are probably involved in multiple activities having personal significance for you.I've found people tend to go to one extreme or the other as they age, limiting their experiences and becoming fixed and rigid, or expanding and exploring, becoming tolerant and compassionate.
I had an interesting experience when we moved to a little "hobby farm" in the country several years ago. You know how time seems to speed up as you get older? Once I was routinely spending my days in tune with the rhythms of nature (and had more time to spend with my youngest children) time slowed down for me. Children took longer to grow up; spring seemed to take a long time to become summer, etc. It didn't just whizz by before I had noticed. Of course, winter always seems to last forever, lol!

If you "kids" are the older generation then I'm ancient. So far, all of you are the ages of my children. I almost didn't stick around the site because of all the 30 somethings referring to themselves as "crones", etc. It's interesting to me. I'm 64 and feel no different than I did when I was 24. Age has made me more tolerant, more curious, more sexual, more adventurous and more aware. I wonder what it is that makes you all think of yourselves as old. Actually, I see you all as just now old enough to have an informed opinion about very much at all and just old enough to be taken seriously. I'm not making fun. I'm just adding another perspective.

I'm 37 if that qualifies as older...

I'm very much looking forward to meeting more in our "special" category :)
Hail and Well Met! I'm forty nine as well and did go to Christian church, but it didn't take. I've been in FL for a year now, and while the weather and chance to be outside year round is nice, it is a...challenge..to be Pagan here. Sometimes I get really tired of hearing "god bless" and "have a blessed day" from people who are otherwise very, very rude. Ah, well. I'm very glad to get to meet others of like mind on-line at least.

Yes, I am enjoying the view, but not the arthritis......lol. AJSwicca said:

Holy crap you are old.LOL Just kidding. I am 48 and wise beyond my years. Very well educated and I give alot to my wiccan community. I was baptized christian and my stepdad was a Methodist preacher. This gives me a unique perspective in the church and OH MY GOD, what a lesson it was. I was asked to leave the church when I was 17 and I have only been back for weddings and funerals. For about 20 years I was atheist and didn't care what I did with my life. I have since found my place spiritually speaking but I don't have a good name for the exact path. All I can say now is I am so happy to be a part of this group and my local wiccan church. I have lots to learn and I hope I can share my experiences with others to help them along this great journey. So Merry Meet to all.
Welcome, I started a group for graying pagans, we are not very active yet, your welcome to join the group.
