Thoughts Of A Love Lost

I wonder what you're doing now, if you ever think of me,
the ways we loved each other, and how things used to be.
Do I blow across your mind some days, invade your dreams at night,
when love was real and we were young and held each other tight.

Broken roads we walked upon, paths trodden long ago,
now and then I do go back... Oh Yes, how I loved you so!
Distant thoughts that I remember, still can make me feel so warm,
I know it would have been different, if we'd held on through the storm.

Looking back upon you love, I see eyes a younger blue,
It seems like only yesterday when it was me and you.
Our love flew high, but then it fell- it lay shattered on the ground,
too many pieces to be fixed, some lost- could not be found.

Many things had happened and we knew we had to part-
We split up, and you moved on, but stayed inside my heart.
Although you're just a memory, of love lost long ago...
I hold each thought so close in heart, cause I never did let go.
