Reminisce...

It all started with a young girl at the age of 19. She had just filled out an application for employment at a local nursing home. She headed back home. The next day she got a call from her future employer. She got called in for an interview and she went to it, determined to gain the job that was being offered. When she walked in to the room where her potential new boss was seated. It was love at first sight. And the girl was not thinking of the love of her new job, which was basically just handed to her. She fell for her boss, despite a 17 year age difference, and kids that were from a previous relationship. None of that mattered to the girl. She was in love.

Fast forward 2 and a half years: the girl is still employed at the nursing home. So is her now lover and boss. They were as in love as any couple could be. The girl moved in with her boss turned lover, thus estranging herself from her family in the process. She only had the family that she had chose for herself, and no one else.

Soon after, her boss became very ill. She had had a gastric bypass surgery a few years before and the doctors obviously didn't know what they were doing. She started having seizures, fatigue, constant pain, and extreme dizziness. The girl was willing to stay with her boss through all of the treatment and pain, and heartache. However, the boss wanted nothing of this. She pushed the girl away and through all of this was to be mean and nasty to the girl, kicking her out of her house and ignoring her at work.

Then just today in the wee hours of the morning, when the girl was still awake but having a panic attack that was horrible and frightening at the same time. She got over it about an hour or two later and began to get ready for the day ahead of her, for she had to work. When the girl got to work that morning at 6:30 she clocked in and grabbed her supplies for work. She was stopped in the hallway by a nursing assistant. That nursing assitant told her that early that morning her boss had died. The girl had lost contact with her boss, but that doesn't mean that she had stopped caring. The girl, who became very upset, upon hearing the news, instantly fainted, and when she came to, the aide and a nurse were standing over her, she thought she had suffered the same fate as her boss. She was wrong, still here in this world, but it was shattered, broken. She is shattered inside. Her boss had left 3 kids and a whole life on this earth. Alone.
