Strangely enough I also connect it to my children, although none of them have past, they do live far away from me and my ex made sure while they were growing up that it was extremely difficult for me to have contact with them. I now have regular contact with them as they are old enough to do as they wish. So while I can not understand your pain in the loss of your son, I do know what it is like to have contact with one's children taken out of their control.
I see that you are new here, I am fairly new to this site (about 3 weeks), but I would like to say welcome to our little corner of the world!
