I'm a neopagan, and I have not pledged the Rede

I think the Rede of "harm none" is beautiful yet nigh impossible for me to live by. Things could change, and I could change, but in the meantime I must keep my technology and my chicken salad. It's difficult for me to type out my feelings, but I will try...

I haven't mastered psychic access to the Akashic Records, but I have the Internet. Generally speaking, all the things needed for me to use the internet first come from Mother Earth. Large areas of Her natural resources are remixed like alchemy to create new combinations of materials that I use everyday, like my car, my yoga mat, and my digital devices. I'm not just alluding to things like the harm that comes to humanity in general from the development and maintenance of current technology, but what harm comes to Mother Nature because of modern conveniences. Granted, I don't think I would recycle an unused Tarot deck anymore than I would spare a plant for my health. I ask you how extreme I seem with this..? I like the notion that those who take from the Earth must give something back, because flora and fauna do it naturally, and humans can as well. But as nice as I think I am, I may hurt someone's feelings, and I wonder if Gaia likes arts and crafts stores. Am I being too hard on myself?

I am grateful for libraries, finely crafted tools, and websites like this one that let me know that I have fellow pagans all over this sacred planet. I thank God and Goddess for all these blessings and more. And I thank you who uphold the Rede of "harm none" because that is an admirable aspect of spiritual reality. That is magick.
