Unfortunately I seem to be a con artist magnet, be it in my email, my online dating profile and now on here. Men from Africa claiming to need help for whatever reason message me constantly with the hopes I will send them money out of desperation for love or for gain of my own. One way to recognize a con is the language they use in communicating with you. Someone who is far too flattering is usually up to something. Another way is the actual words used, I have corresponded with a few people that it seems as if the email has been copied and pasted and it is like several people have contributed to it. What I mean by this is that the grammar changes from email to email, as if someone who is not fluent in English has written part of it, then a section of fluency and back to bad grammar again. Avoidance of direct questions is another clue, also refusal to Skype or video chat. They don't want you to know what they really look like. Refusal to speak on the phone, so you can't hear the heavy accent or see that they really are not fluent enough to have written you the letters you have been receiving. I have had the same group of people try me over two different dating sites. The best thing to do is to contact your local computer crimes section of the police and give them copies of the emails, email addresses, phone numbers and any address they have given you. This will help them track down these scam artists and put a stop to it.
