A Trail of Tears

A trail of tears we leave behind
To find a better life we strive
A trail of heartbreak
A trail of hardship
Our journey is long, but our hearts are true
If we stay together we are strong
Once our lives were full of Happiness
But now it’s all gone

Are our Spirits Broken?
No!
Yet they are full of pain
So we walk along this Trail of Tears

Seeking the days of past
Praying this Trail of Tears to end
Hoping this pain will not last for years

Oh Spirit in the sky
Give us Your strength
As we walk this path
Oh Spirit in the sky
Our hearts are sore
Our eyes are weary
Give us Your strength
When our journey is at an end
May there be no more tears to be shed

Give us a new beginning
Give us a new life
Give us honor and hope
Give us the remembrance of happiness
So when this Trail of Tears has ended
A new trail of happiness will begin
