Wicca Wiccans Pagans and Free Souls.. live different.. be Neopagan!

This week on The Spiral Dance is our annual celebration of Lammas! Also called Loughnasaud, it's one of the major cross-quarter sabbats. Lammas is a time of the first Harvest, and is sacred to the God Lough. We'll talk about the traditions and myths associated with Lammas from over the centuries and around the world right up until Now.

One tradition is it's associations with Grain. From the European Corn Dolly to the Rice Mother, honoring staple products like grain and corn is a worldwide phenomenon. So, as part of Lammas, we'll talk about The Spirit of the Grain God, and in conjunction, I have a Lammas Grain Sacrifice Ritual.

From ancient times, the ash tree has often been associated with divination and knowledge. In some Celtic legends, it is also seen as a tree sacred to Lough. This brings us to a discussion of Ash Tree Magick and Folklore.

Since Lammas is sacred to Lough, we'll talk about this Master of All Skills.

Finally, we'll have a Lammas Harvest Mother Ritual, to honor the Goddess at this time of the year.
