How do you perform your ritual?

I"m very much into ritual. the most important part for me is cleansing and energizing. That comes first. The body, mind, and area I will do my ritual and esp spell work in All three also will incorporate some element I may use in a spell. Aka a bath may have a couple drops of the oil I plan to use in spell. The tools I use, I energize them with moon phases that are deemed appropriate. I do the spell dependent on moon phase. a new moon to cast away...a full to new moon to bring close to my life. I choose my location ideal for spell. I then use a literal protective circle to make my space safe. (i'm not strong enough to make an energy protective circle yet.) Right now my choice is salt. I take in account as many aspects related to my intent into the ritual and use them accordingly. I pay special attention to the pentagram and what direction each element is and face towards that if it will aid in spell work. I always use candles. Prior to the spell, I ground myself and after ground myself again. I usually ground myself with using, the ground, water, or eating something. I thank the goddess and god b4 I even begin. I thank them afterwards. I do not invite any outside forces other than the elements. If I don't know what will come into my sacred space, then I have no way to know how to rid it. I speak through my own will and focus on exactly I wish the aid of. I write this before hand so I can better focus. I'm going to add something that some may find taboo. I only use a drop or two of my own blood in a spell if I want it to be more powerful. soon will be the second time I will do this. I realize this is binding and carries my own essence. I won't do a binding spell with another person to bind to myself (ever!). However, I have used my blood for a protection spell for someone I deeply cared for..and I think when you use a small amount of your own blood toward another person, they somehow know you are responsible for whatever changes are happening in their lives. So it was spoken to me by this individual. I won't use it for malicious purposes.

my forest of choice is someplace close to running water. the reason is very simple, I played the most as a kid in forests close to a stream. I felt the most free then. I chose places I have positive associations with.
