What a pleasure to read of a mother and her children able to openly express their faith and beliefs, even in school!! Jacintha, do you realize how different things are in the United States? Our children in America aren't allowed to openly learn anything of a religious nature except that some teachers teach Christian things in violation of State and Federal laws. You and your children are very fortunate. I've been drawn to Western Ireland for many decades and it's the one place in the world that I would love to see. We would have to home school our children to be able to teach them the beauties of the Pagan ethos. Your children sound beautiful and you sound like a truly inspired mother.
Hello Everyone,
I am the mother of two beautiful teenage girls. Aubrilynn and Avalon. I have always encouraged my girls to keep an open mind where religion is concerned, but I am proud to say that so far in their life they have chosen to follow a similar path to mine. But my goodness teenage girls are something else!

Merry meet all. I am a 23 y/o pagan mom living in the middle of Kansas. So unfortunately there aren't many other pagan mothers here to chat with. I have a 4y/o little angel. I have been doing my best to come up with ways to teach her the pagan path. But most books only have activities for older children. I am looking forward to having some other mothers of like mind to converse with.
Sounds like a handful to me. I love the name Iris. Are you fortunate enough to be able to stay home with them? I think that's always the best thing for them and for us. But, of course, it's not always possible. I was lucky to have a grandmother to watch my children while I worked so I didn't have to turn them over to strangers.
i am the mother two a baby girl name iris 2 going 2,000 and 2 month old son name cloud

Merry Meet fellow Pagan Mothers!
I am happy to have found this site and this group!
The Lady has been gracious and blessed me with a daughter who is now 10 years old, going on 25 of course. I have also recently been blessed with two step children.
I have tried to give my daughter a well rounded education in religion. I want her to have a good understanding of many different paths. I plan to study other religions more so that I can continue to broaden her horizons. I have, since before her birth, always felt she that she needs to choose her own path and to do that she needs to have all the information she can.
My two step children live with their mother and with us almost every weekend and throughout most vacations. Their mother is very Christian. They come to here telling their Dad that he is going to hell because he doesn't go to church and because he doesn't believe in God. I find it sad that their Mother would even tell them that he doesn't believe in God at the same time that she says people will go to hell if they don't believe. An 8yr old and a 10yr old can live with that fear now. How sad! But that is what I have found Christianity to be about. Fear and Guilt.
My (soon to be husband) has similar beliefs to mine, although he has never had anyone to show him any path but Christianity (his parents are also very religious, attending church several times a week) He was always interested in Paganism but didn't really know how to go about learning. He, like many has now found that the more he learns about Paganism the more he finds it fits his own personal beliefs.
I was able to seek knowledge at the age of 16 and found then that it was exactly what I felt and what I had voiced my beliefs to be many times to my Mother (who will undoubtedly pray for my soul ;-P) \
It is hard to find ways to calm the fears of my two step children without being too blunt. Their mother has already taken it upon herself to tell my fiance how evil Paganism is and how Pagans do evil spells and pray to the devil and blah blah blah....I'm sure you've all heard it before! She of course did this in front of the children. She then asked what I believe. He answered with, "she believes basically what I believe." Oh crap. Here we go. I know this is going to be the start of many fights between them regarding the children. I have always been careful not to teach or say anything in front of the children that they could repeat and stir trouble. But this is going to do it I'm sure. I try to tell him that you can't reason with people who unreasonably follow a book of myths without question.
Please don't think I try to hide my beliefs because I am ashamed. If anyone has ever been through a custody battle then you know that it is best to play nice even when you spend most the time with a painfully artificial grin on your face. It's for the children. It's best not to argue and when it comes to a person who attends church on Wednesday and twice on Sunday, there will be an argument if you EVER discuss religion....unless you are attending church just as often.
Well there is my parenting issue for the moment. Sorry to babble but there is really no other outlet for me, except to him but he feels the same.
Secret midnight meetings in the woodlands don't seem so far past at times do they?!!!
I wish you all happiness and hope to learn much from all of you and teach when I can.
I am here to anyone with questions or who just needs a shoulder.
May the Lord and Lady always bless you with Love and Light, and guide you in your path.
Hi All,
Merry Meet! My children are grown, but they still look to mom and dad for advice and guidance. Not to mention future grandchildren, Lord and Lady so will it!! I can try to learn all and lead by example, right?
HI girls. Sorry it took so long for me to get it going. I am the proud mother of two girls. One is 20 and the other is 15. They were raised pagan, as was I. It has been interesting, to say the least. I think having a pagan mother that was always pagan and therefore accepted by many of the people around them as such helped. I did have a knock down drag out fight with a friend when they were younger about trying to sneak them off to church without my consent.
It didn't end well. Personally I think it is just unbelievable to have even attempted and nothing short of kidnapping.
But then again Christians often don't think we have the same rights as they do and don't understand us getting upset when someone outside our beliefs harms or offends us.
So I took my kids to church and had before. A well rounded religious education is the best thing for them. Now my kids, after going to churches and also being raised around the Amish are...heheh..a bit wary of Christians and feel sorry for them. and I go on..man I can blab....
Nice to meet you all...

Hi Arianrhod, I was wondering how you dealt with teaching your daughter Wicca after she began school. Was she open about her participation in the circle? Were you? I ask it this way because it's not something I would recommend to anyone who lives in the area of the U.S. that I do unless they have a lot of money for attorneys.
