Birthing a Baby

When I was much younger I had the experience of birthing a baby girl at home...back then I lived high in the mountains and hospitals were quite far so Midwives were popular in the area and they made regular visits to me and when then it was time and everything looked fairly certain for a natural delivery I actually mothered her right there at home...my helpers were highly educated in mountain crafts, herbs and everything that went with child delivery so I got to learn about herbs & things....the two most helpful ones were Comfrey...that can induce labor and Golden Seal that given a bath in will stop Post Partum bleeding and bacteria, that it's a cleanser and purifier....quite an experience and when I moved this far east and women heard my story it also became popular here and the Hospitals opened their doors  to Nurse Practitioners and Midwives so they could also have Traditional Natural Delivery....Pot smokin' Hippies? Yeah we were, although I quit smoking about 20 years ago...I did learn quite a bit from the culture and that child I gave birth to is thirty six now....a couple of generations have also passed...Blessed Be!
