Sam, never in all my lives could I sit for 15 minutes :) Unless I have a book or something constructive to do. I can't watch tv. In fact I despise it as wasted energy. I joke about not knowing what shampoo I'm supposed to use or what clothes I'm supposed to think are cool. I laugh and say "oh the perils of independant thinking". But I can sit and read a book from start to finish and never think to get up and go to the bathroom. I don't know what that says about me, but I am what I am. I really think I may be in uncharted territory when it comes to the whole music/numerology thing. I'm going somewhere with it. I KNOW I am. I came here looking for guidance and as it turns out...I'm drawing this map. Dang! I forgot to bring my colored pencils.

Ah! I forgot to mention we are both musicians. Guess that could have helped. He is primarilly a bassist, for a very successful band but also dabbles in orchistrating his own original music. He recently (after the breakup) layed down all the drum, guitar and bass tracks to lyrics I wrote and sent him (also after the breakup). Music is who we both are, part of our cellular makeup. Something that difines us, both as a couple and as individuals. So...for me as a writer, I'm already in tune...but to feel someone else making my words into a song, which he is doing, even know as I type these words...is a powerful spiritual, psychic connection. However, it isn't relagated just to him. It's a psychic tool like a crystal ball or like my tarot cards. My spirit guide talks to me that way because as a writer...that's how I communicate and my guide uses my language to reach me and tell me what he thinks I need to know. BTW, does anyone else have a male spirit guide?

oh pretty well other than the fact that they are mostly in Kansas and on days that I work :) My Pagan Reverend Rose is really nice.

Marivah- You are not alone! A really bad break up did that to me once. Any song I listened to was speaking directly to me or about our break up. I thought he was my soulmate and every song was maddening. I sat at the kitchen table one day and let it all out in a piece of very scary, very colorful artwork. I sat with a pack of construction paper made freeform shapes and ripped and glued and all the while I was listening to all the music that had been tormenting me. After that I could listen to the radio without crying. I did have to delete some specific songs off my Ipod but it was a small price to pay for sanity.

All of our memories are attached to our 6 senses. I say six because I believe we all have a spiritual sense that we can sense different universes, planes, and the spiritual realm with. I think you may be tapping into the Universal Consciousness while listening to the music. I think this is precipitated by the fact that you are spiritually vulnerable right now.

My advice do some creative scrying. A little free association never hurt and it will help you relieve yourself of some spiritual baggage.

marivah: i dont know much about it personally but math and music definitely go together, its been said that Beethoven's works are mathematically precise. math is definitely used to bring about different tempos and beats. it can also be used to form an entire song, as each note breaks down into a frequency. intense stuff. i think Pythagoras was the guy who started figuring out the math of frequencies and modern cognitive science - the effects (very new though). but just as telepathy and divination works i see no reason why songs would not do the same thing, especially if you have a connection with music. if you think its a sign trust it, itll run its own course. and music being the language of the universe, id sing to that ;) music does have an energy. ive never thought of using it with magic but i bet it would be magical :)

Marivah, lets start with some basics. Music is the language of the universe and the planets. The harmonics of the planets is singing in your very existence every minute of the day. If you are looking for magick in music, you need to study David Bowies music. Different path than mine so I don't get involved.
The voices in your head could be from your break up or enities. The "could have" or "should have" or "would have" are part of being human. Enjoy these feelings for they are what makes you feel alive and give you contrast to make choices. These feeling are what great songs are make out of. At this point, you have a choice to make, focus on other's work or manifest a master piece or two.
You have been looking into divination. What are you looking for?
Do you have enities running around your place?
Can you sit quietly without a though for 15 minutes?
Do you believe in Karma?

Sam, I don't know where to start. All these things come at me so fast that I can't keep up. I feel like a crazy ranting woman, too many voices...like some mania. I didn't believe in any of this til my "psychic" cousin came to visit and left all her "friends". Now I can't shut it off.

Mariyah - Music has been around for ages and many cultures used it as a form of worship and meditation I'm not sure about Divination but I'm pretty sure it was used to induce trace like states like a Medium would go into.

As for bands that use numerology in their work yes there are. I know that Tool uses Sacred Geometry in their drum beats. Their song "Lateralus" uses a Fibonacci Sequence, "46 and 2" is base pairs DNA and Evolution

Hi Marivah, welcome to the group. You have covered a lot of ground in your posts. Sorry about your break up. I have thoughts and experience with what you are covering. I just don't know if your path is close to mine. I can explain it in my terms but it may not have meaning to you. Music, language, lyrics, all have their roots in magick. You have pick many topics so lets break them down into smaller groups. Where do you want to start?

Ok this really wierd thing just came to me. I may be freaking crazy but what the hell. The difference between musician and magician... 2 letters, the first being the difference between the letter "a" and the letter "u" the math would say 20. Next is the letters between c and g. the number 4. I'm having trouble connecting all the dots but I KNOW I am on to something. Musicians with magical background, help me connect these dots!!!!
