I get a bit confused between shooting stars and satellites - good thing I have a Taurus brother to help me out!  You'r lucky to live in a place that sees a paliseid shower every year as our Earth spins through the Swift Tittle debris.  We have nothing like that at home.  Its something I want to see one day, right along with  an arora, Glacier National Park and the rocky Mountains.  The Earth is a wonderful place to explore.

The Path is a good place to be Sarah.  It takes a lifetime to learn but its worth the ride.  Enjoy the learning and the peace it brings.

Merry Meet everyone.

I'm new to this site and to the path, so I'm still trying to figure everything out. I've always felt a strong pull from the Earth and the Great Mother so I think this is a good place for me (:

Blessed Be

Hope you get to go to Karoo soon to count stars. I like to watch for shooting stars when I am looking at the heavens.

Me -  I prefer the stars.   In the Karoo they are so bright and numerous that you can lie on your back for hours and not be able to count them all.  They light up the sky and surround the moon to complement Her beauty.  I miss them but will go home to my friends who will be waiting for me to come and play.

Sharon I live outside of a town as each year closes. The night sky is getting robbed of it beauty. I use to have sky parties in the fields and several people would come out and bring their telescopes. Now it is getting lighter and lighter to light for the telescopes to see deep space. But the Moon in all her glory, she shines so bright it lights the country side. The other night the moon was full and a strong coastal wind was blowing from the south. Those are nights I enjoy with all it's magick.

One of the few nice things about the desert -no rain hence no clouds and the night sky can be seen in all its glory.  I miss the stars of the milkyway that I have back home but the clear moons make up for it (almost)

Went into the mountains, just got back last night, it was so beautiful, watching the peaceful lake, listening to mother natures music. I wish i could be up there all the time!

By the way, Sharon, thats so cool!! We had a lunar eclipse the other week, but it was cloudy & we couldnt see it :(

Got to see a total Eclipse on Wednesday.  Started as I was walking home from work at 21h45 and lasted till 3am.  It was a clear desert night and amazing to see.  A true privelage.

Im in Saudi Arabia - Rhyadh at the moment.  It was a HUGE change for me as Im a costal girl (born in the Karoo and Raised in the Eastern Cape in South Africa).  I had a lot of trouble adjusting as the magic here felt awkward but Im getting used to it.  The Storms are most spectacular and worth the heat to see - Our Mother in all her glory.  Ive decided that those storms were worth the trip of a 15 hour flight to see.

Sharon, I'm in the California high desert and I know just what you mean about those storms, they're awesome! Where in the desert are you?
