General idea for this forum...

Hi Newbies and Advisors!

So glad you made it here. Thanks for joining both this group and the community. Ask for what you are seeking and another might help you find it.
Feel free to start a discussion or post comments on the wall (like many so far, thanks)...
That's the idea anyway!
This group is very loosely administered... It's more a point of connection for new community members looking to meet others. New members may or may not be new to the concept of Paganism etc.

Express yourself!

Hugs,
Rebecca

I am kind of new to this. I have felt some thing very strong in me for most of my life. But as all ways I have been reluctant to explore it. That seems to be the story of my life, I want to try things (even the ones that I have a very strong desier to try) but in the end some one says or dose some thing and I back off. I really really want to exlproe so much and I am hoping to find some one to help me and share things that only an other girl could understand.

Id lke to share with every one some thing that hapened to me last night. I was parked next to a pick-up truck siting in my car when I noticed what looked like faces reflecting off the windshiled of the truck. the faces changed about every few seconds. Most of them were of children but others were of adults. I didnt regognive any of the faces. They all looked happy. Some thing like this has never happened to me before. I wasent scared, but it was very moving to me. Any ways just wanted to share that with every one.

Friday Fun Fact: The modern basis for Friday the 13th phobia dates back to Friday, October 13, 1307. On this date, the Pope of the church in Rome in Conjunction with the King of France, carried out a secret death warrant against "The Knights Templar". The Templars were terminated as heretics, never again to hold the power that they had held for so long.

Ashfox- i can defently see where your comming from, and though each is entitled to their own. There are some faiths that one cant but to help laugh at. For example Discordianism, noone takes it seriously not even its own practitoners. its based ff a book called Principia Discordia by Greg Hill and even he laughed about it. Much of its texts read like jokes and really dont make sence froma logical perspective.

My point is you dont have to believe it is real for someone else to believe that it is. The true power of a religion or even of a word comes from the belife that it is powerful. Lets face it the only true power is that of granted power.

I think it's really good that everyone is expressing themselves and I think it's good to do it with conviction, in a friendly way. It seems an impt question. One that history plays a critical role in - Can one be Christian and Pagan? I think this should all get moved to the main Forum so others can participate. One, it's a healthy discussion. Two, rather than create walls we should aim at breaking them down. What is a pagan today, Lord Soth? I don't know that everyone will agree, but it is and can be a vibrant discussion. Gene Belvins - Tell us more abt the history you know. Somebody take this to the forum!
