This group is very loosely administered... It's more a point of connection for new community members looking to meet others. New members may or may not be new to the concept of Paganism etc.

Thanks Becky."From Eternity to Here" is sure checked out a lot, yet it is available @ a library not far from where I live. I'll pick it up this Friday.
Yeah...I do believe Odin knows, and as far as I'm concerned, only Odin needs to know what happens in the afterlife. It's much simpler that way.

@ Todd: I don't believe any deity worth following wants us to fear death or the afterlife or reincarnation. It just is. From what I understand of Ragnarock is that it will happen Odin knows that so why fear it? As for Hella\helheim why would you worry about that. In my opinion, if you believe in reincarnation it shouldn't matter. A good book that might help would be "From Eternity to Here" by Sean Carroll. It's a science book that attempts to define time. Also, in my opinion the only thing that time wouldn't apply to is complete extracorporeal oblivion in other words nothingness.

Big problem. I'm Asatru, I read 2 books on Hinduism & they hold the same belief as I do when it comes to reincarnation. I mean, we are not our body, and, I believe, our sentience is only a tiny fraction of our minds. When we die, we have no sence of time, so, once that miniscule number of molecules comes together in, say, 500 million years, to us, it's like less than the blink of an eye. There, we are born again. The problem is, what about Hella and helheim? Esotericly, I should believe I will end up in helheim w/Hella 'till Ragnarock. Am I still Asatru even though I do not believe in this part of Northern Tradition?

btw It kind of follows that if you can think you're crazy you aren't, or at least not completely. If you feel out of control it probably means you need to talk to someone you trust not to judge.
