General idea for this forum...

Hi Newbies and Advisors!

So glad you made it here. Thanks for joining both this group and the community. Ask for what you are seeking and another might help you find it.
Feel free to start a discussion or post comments on the wall (like many so far, thanks)...
That's the idea anyway!
This group is very loosely administered... It's more a point of connection for new community members looking to meet others. New members may or may not be new to the concept of Paganism etc.

Express yourself!

Hugs,
Rebecca

Some ancients were actually both christian and pagan, i believe a great example is Gnosticism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnosticism I hate using Wiki links lol. Anyway yes you can be both and still have pagan beliefs. The Celts is another great example. Not to mention the word pagan doesn't have anything to do with the god(s) you worship...it simply means rustic or simple.

Yes you can be both. In fact, there is a book by Joyce & River Higginbotham and that very same subject. It's titled ChristoPaganism.

Hey Floyda - I think you have a new discussion topic for the forum: "I have been told that I cannot be a Christian and a Pagan. I feel that I can be both. Who's right? "

I support you to do it!

I have been feeling others around me that are not thier. I can feel if they are hurting or if they are happy or lost, and a lot of things I just cant explaine. My question is how do I know if the ones Im feeling are ment to hurt me or are they friendly?

My thoughts are lost in a deep forest.
Off in the distance I can see a light.
I’m drawn to it by some unknown force.
Is it my destiny or is it my imagination?
As I get closer I can feel something in me grow.
A feeling I have dreamt many times.
It’s almost like my ancestors have lead me to this place.
I wish to know more but my ignorance of what I am experiencing prevents me.

To Dan Brown - Please check out the various profiles and try to connect with someone that may have had a similar experience or can relate. I think sometimes with age, people have the barriers lower that they had in their youth, and maybe that opens them to new experiences. It happened to me about 10 years ago too. Spirituality leaped into my life in a way it hadn't been before. Check out our groups here too. Maybe someone has started one about this subject. Thanks!

To Floyda - I believe you CAN be both. In fact, Christianity has its roots from Paganism. There are a few discussions in our Forum about that. Check it out! PS If you are a Christian, you could be considered a Pagan because of the historical ancestry of the religion! Some people might not agree but it could be argued.

I can't remember if I've asked this before, but I want everyone's honest opinion. I have been told that I cannot be a Christian and a Pagan. I feel that I can be both. Who's right?
