do you believe that matter and spirit are separate realms?

i would like to introduce this topic discussion, before saying what I think...

I think that they are one and the same. But they are different words for one realm.

i think that matter and spirit are one and the same. the spirit i housed in the body and if the body can withstand the power in it then thay are at least compatable

I beleive that matter, and spirit are seperate realms. I deduce this by taking into consideration both the physical, and metaphysical realms. In my opinion, the physical realm is the realm in which lies all of the atoms, molecules and protons that make up our universe. This also includes the results brought forth from these molecular particals combining, meaning that all the stars, planets, galaxies, and every living thing also resides in this realm. The metaphysical realm is the realm in which the spirit lies, in which these atomic combinations in the physical realm are manifested with the soul, and spiritual energy. this is the realm in which the essence of life lies...among many other things of course. But keep in mind, this is only my opinion.

In my opinion there is not separation among the two realms. The separation is only apparent, but in reality the two "realms" are intersecting, creating a multilevel Universe... please for more info go to neopagan.com where I explain more in deep my vision.
Then I agree generally with Matt's ideas, except for the fact that there are not really divisions ( even if from our human perspective there seem to be ...) in this "continuum perpetual" immaterial-material Universe!! ...

i really hope so. my body feels like it's dying out from under me and i'd like to think that when it does, i won't just go poof. i think that the mind is totally seperate from the body. when the body dies, the mind goes to it's next project. but that's just me. blessed be.

I think that the relms are intertwined but that they are sort of... cleaved. things/people die but I believe that the spirit continues on the eternal path that you belived in life. So as flesh decays your mind/spirt detemins whether it does too.

That's what I think but we won't know till we cross the line into the unknown

I believe that spiritual energy resonates in everything, but i also believe that there is another "realm" where your soul resides until rebirth(with the exception of those who stay behind for one reason or another).

The soul, or our essence, continue, like in a loop, his descent-ascent through his metamorphosis-incarnations... there is just one multilevel Universe... nothing in reality will born and nothing die, but everything its in a perpetual state of changes, until this erratic soul will re-connect with the One.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say matter and spirit are the same, but I do believe they are deeply interconnected.
