So it is too complicated to measure scientifically? I see your point. I like that it isn't silly, like a Christian explanation would be :P But that's still unfortunate to hear. It sounds like that still requires faith.

You are not taking into account the others that a doing spells against you making rain. The will of many out weighs the will of one, thus it does not rain.

I can measure an increase in my ability to play piano though. I am now in RCM level 6 and I was in RCM level 4 a few months ago. Why would there be no way to test my ability to use magick? For instance, I could do 20 rain spells, spaced out within two months. And I can check to see how many times rain comes within a 24 hour period after I performed the spell. If it happened every time, to me that would be absolute proof that I am good with magick. This is still subjective, others might want more absolute proof, as it remains a bold claim, but it would be good for me. :)

You see what you want to see. Everyone's reality is different. We filter the universe through our belief system. Magick is about Self, it is not about proving or disproving. You can not measure your evolvement through quantifing it. Are you more enlighten today than you where yesterday, only you can answer that question. Love to all.

Your perception is based on reality, but is not the reality itself. Don't worry, you are real, the people around you are real, and the ground you stand on is real :) However, your perception, ultimately what you mean when you refer to something, is your internalization of it. This is never completely true or real. We have limited perceptions, most see time as one dimensional, but it's just as likely has three dimensions. Just as space might be four dimensional, we just can't perceive it. Our brain gathers the data from ours eyes, ears, nose and such, and puts it all together. There is some improvisation :P Ever seen someone in a shadow, but they weren't there? Your brain thought the pieces of the puzzle added up to a person, but your brain was mistaken. When you think of a hallucination, you limit your thoughts to ones that are mostly mistaken, and don't consider the more common, mostly correct hallucinations. If you regard both sides of the spectrum though, things make a lot more sense. It's also the only way we can say that the supernatural might exist.

not necessarily paralysis dreams although that is usually the end result of my You're awake but not really dreams

I actually don't mind sleep paralysis, I find it comfortable. But I think she means when you are still asleep, but are under the illusion that you are actually awake. It's very odd. Usually when I do that I just do ordinary things, but they have a bizzaro element that jars me, because I recognize it's off, and eventually it makes me realize I'm still dreaming.
