This Goddes made her self known to me when I bought an asian looking statue of a woman sitting cross legged on a lotus blossom.hands together in prayr with a vase before her. I soon found out I was pregnant with what is now my 17 yr old son. I had to laugh at it when I discoverd who this was a statue of, and besides "mother of mercy" one of her other main titles is "bringer of children". Buddhists pray to her when trying to conceive a child and for a "painless" and uncomplicated delivery. She also serves, much like the Cathlic Mary, as the "mother of all" and grants help with all problems Her followers may have, if they ask. Her stories, that I could find, reads much like a Cathlic saint's, where she is a lady of royal blood who wants to enter into a temple but is sold to a brothel insted, and refused to serve as a "whore". She is toretured in various ways for Her dissobedience and each time ,as She prays to The Buddha for help, She is "magicly" protected from all harm. Finaly they try to put her to death, by fire in most versions, and She is approached by The Buddha, who releases Her and grants Her Divinity for retaining Her "purity". In return She vows to help all man kind with all Her heart, and is much loved in China and the asian lands. Please share what you may know of Her or feel free to ask any questions. I will answer them if I can.
