Hi, I haven't written since November. I did get one friendly message about discrimination in the schools, discrimination that my grandkids may face.
I am going to consider putting a COEXIST bumper sticker on our van. I will tell you the total truth. When I attend church in that vehicle, if anyone understands the bumper sticker, I may be approached with criticism. Actually I am only attending there for my elderly mom, and hope to go to a more liberal Christian church someday. You see, she needs me to help her along with her cane, especially in winter. She knows I'm not thrilled about it.
I hope this thread will continue. It may be the only place you would want to talk to me. Thanks to that person who did message me. I just believe our country has freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
"But not for your daughter!" she likes to say.
It's hard for everyone and I'm sorry if a lot of you have not encountered open-hearted love from christians. My daughter and I love each other a lot and always get through it. We went five years without engaging in an argument. I know that no one can be forced to believe something that they don't believe. Then it's not belief. I am proud she's not pretending to please or appease her family.
Have a nice day, Dawn
I am the product of a very Atheist family. No one in my family ever believed in any type of greater being. When I moved out of my parents house a few months ago, at the age of 17, I was welcomed into my boyfriends house of lesbian Christians, who have a Wiccan daughter, and an Atheist Son. It's a diverse family, but we get along, despite our differences. I feel that if so many diversities can live in harmony in a small household, why cant the world live in diversity also? I hope to become a part of the love, and rid our amazing world of LGBT bullying, and even racism and discrimination. We don't we give peace a chance? :)
Hello, I just joined wiccaneopagan to learn about present discrimination and activities for preventing it. I listed my favorite saying as "coexist", not knowing you have this group!
I would like to see solidarity among all religions. I am a Christian with a pagan daughter and grandchildren. As they approach their school years, I am concerned about how they will be treated and am interested in learning about activism.
Has there ever been wiccan/pagan information distributed to teachers/school systems to educate them about beliefs and common errors about wiccan/pagan beliefs?
Is there an organized movement to educate the general public?
I do not like to see discrimination practiced in any form in the world. If you have any comments or suggestions, they would be very much appreciated. Thank You and salutations for the New year. Dawn
Merry Meet everyone.
I'm new to this site and when I was looking through the groups I had to stop by this one. I've grown up in a heavily christian family but even when I was a girl didn't believe what my family did. I never discriminate anyone because of their sexual orientation or religion or how they were brought up. Everyone is free to be whoever they wish to be. Anyone know where I can get one of those "coexist" bumper stickers? :)
May the Mother bless you all
I consider myself to be an Atheist Asatruar. Odd, I know. I read most of your posts, & I thought they were quite cool. I agree w/you guys. Live & let live.
