This is for people with water element energy (but can also be for those who want to use water element). Water manipulation is the wrong term for any element usage, because we don’t manipulate anything, we work with….this is why I like the term “Element Bending”. This is the basic guide/root of all energy work. To better understand, we first must understand that all of the elements are within us and they work together within us. Our body is made up of more than 70% of water, as the blood flows it heats up our body, the blood flows because of our breathing, and last our skin holds it all together. Now we are going to focus on water-bending. All of us have this natural ability, but we barely notice it as bending. Water bending basic is probably the easiest to do/learn. Since water flows like air, but is felt makes it the easiest to bend. Since we are most made up of water this is also the element that we can easily become connected too. Water also moves in cycles so once you get the hang of it, it is hard to really lose it. We must also realize that like air water is all around us at all time (anything that is living has water in it), which makes it as accessible as air. You will find many similarities between water and air, because the type of flow of energy is the same (they both move in waves/cycles). These basic steps will help you to become more connected to water, as well as all life around you.

Basic Training #1:
1) To first really connect with this element it is best to find a large mass of water (a pool, lake, ocean, river……but to start off find still water like a pool or lake). As you are in the water fully emerge yourself underneath the water to have the feeling of being surrounded by water….try to keep as still as you can for as long as you can and notice how your body feels in that state.
2) Once you have become familiar with being in water and your body has gotten use to it, start moving your body in water…..but very small/slow movements. Since water becomes affected by the slightest motion make sure you start off small and slow movements and then grow to bigger and faster movements….you will start to feel how easy it is to work with water.
3) Start moving your body in different ways…make a circle, sway, bring back and push forward, and any other way you can think of….this gets your body use to the motion and allows you to feel different ways of water motion (REMEMBER WATER DOESN’T JERK AROUND IT FLOWS, so try to keep movements to constant flowing)
4) Now that you have gotten the hang of the water and it’s motions start playing with items….anything you want really…floaty, pennies, ball, a toy, etc… start using the motion of your body to bend the water to move those items…try to keep your hands underneath the water (it is easy to move floating things with hands at water level, so underneath allows you to get more experience/control).

This is the basic training of water energy work, even if you feel/think this is stupid. Remember the basics are essential, and to ignore them, loses all sight of energy working. Plus this will teach your body and the element to work together in harmony. There are more steps on the way but make sure you try these steps before moving on.

it is very much like tai chi...in fact tai chi is the movement of energy...and it works great...but you will find which motions work for which elements....like circular/swirling motions work best for water and air, while more more str8 forward and like non cycle motions are more earth and fire motions. i hope that helps
