URGENT Revision of Islamic Religion
In the name and defense of our ancient Paganic precious right to freedom and since Islam has proven to be a dangerous faith for freedom lovers & thinkers, it's about time for a deep examination of what is really now Islam and how it's interpreted today by the Islamic masses.
I think that we are bothered enough by these repetitive acts of murder in the name of Allah in every part of this world.
These acts are NOT made just by extremists or terrorists, but also by normal people as shown often in past discussions in this community.
I feel that it's about time to call for a "clarifying" planetary summit.
A summit that will include Western leaders of all types (religious-political-philosophers..) with similar Muslim "legitimate" leaders of East and Middle East. So that together they can clarify, point after point, WHAT IS really Islam and WHAT IS NOT Islam today.
Then we will produce all the elements to create a new complete "official"revision of Islam.
GOAL of the summit: The main goal is to hopefully erase from Islam everything that has to do with intolerance of any kind which leads to violent acts in the name of Allah, bringing back this religion to its ancient wisdom plus a revised contemporary doctrine, that can hopefully better harmonize Islam with the rest of the non-Islamic world...
RESULTS: Finally we will also understand clearly who is really pro "Bin Laden style", plus we will separate fanatics from moderates by identifying them.
So that in a large scale view of Islam, we will see without confusion all the nations that are covering or sympathizing with terrorism, fanaticism versus the ones that are for a more moderate exploitation of the Islamic faith...
Next it is my intention to write a letter for President Obama to create this summit.
I'd like to know your thoughts at this regard and if you like the idea to write and send this letter.
ps. Note that I said "revision" of Islam and not to erase this old religion..I don't want to be misinterpreted here...

I will support you in any and every way that I can to see that a summit of this kind happens! I think this is at the core of terrorism and this is a step to get to the core of the matter. We need to be able to live in this world freely, without threat of murder for not believing in someone else's ideals.

Dear. It is difficult case to revise a religion that has been crystalized.But by pointing out the pagan roots of Islam we we can have more people joining paganism. In the States Paganism is arising but so the fundamental Christianity and Islam. First we must make our religion official worldwide,then we can sit and discuss in equal terms with the revealed religions.I am sure there will be moderates and healthy minds in Islam and those can make the difference.Even the Muslims are divided into Shia,Sunni and Sufi brotherhoods.The worst scenario could be a clash of cultures and religions.Our liberies could be jeopardised

Good idea Founder, i wil just say that this is a good time, just before 2012 and Enlightenment, to get rid of intolerance and terrorism. Now how about a revision on Christianity while your at it? I think they need a revision of their ethos.

I believe that a revision of Islam is a "must", with a "severe purge" of all the fanaticism and extremism accumulated by Islam over the centuries.
To Islam can surely follow Christians and Jewish, who need also to clarify other basic points and attitude toward other religions.
To me to revise Paganism, as nicholas zeus suggests, seems no sense and an impossible task since Paganism is an eclectic multi differentiate ensemble of religions and cults, that are too much different each one from the other to be represented as just one entity...
Plus: are we bothering somebody so blatantly and planetarily as Islam is doing NOW?!!...

As far as I've studied, the teaching of Islam is to defend but not to offend. You can see it in the histories. It has it's own law which has only statements for Islams.
But you know, nothing is good in extremes. The extremists are really aggressive and their terrorism is not really for Islam but for politics. While learning (or revising) such cases, we must not conclude before we've learned everything.
As far as I know, Islam was the only religion that fought for slaves and women back in those ages..
The revision of Paganism; I meant it to prove and clarify the points and roots of it.. I'm sorry for my bad English, it's not my primary language..

Are you Islamic Nicholas?...it takes a really good stomach to keep defending modern Islam despite facts that everyday are proving the tyranny of this fanatical religion!
As I said many times in my postings I don't belong to any religion or cult so that my mind is clean and objective and not affected by any religious propaganda.
I read about Sufism, the root of Islam, during my youth and I found this religion extremely charming. But from that time to today a reverse walk in a doom was made by Islam...
What you said about Islam fought for slaves and women is today totally obsolete. Especially women today, hidden as slaves in ridiculous burkhas, are submitted by Islamic "laws" and practices to any kind of absurd rules and abuses!
I do know that there are many good Islam followers, but the majority seems to vibrate at the unison with their blind, violent and racist fanatic spiritual and political leaders...
In conclusion Islam as is today is not defendable in any way as is not anymore the sincere genuine religion of the beginning, since has become a manipulated doctrine for the only purpose of controlling people to achieve world supremacy and planetary domination.
This is why an URGENT revision of this religion is needed asap!
Lastly what you called a "revision" of Paganism it's in reality a "review" of Paganism, which is exactly what I'm doing with my neopagan.com

nicol i respect your vission.but you people are talking about based on some reference.but you people are not here.i dont want to say much.just look at this picture.this victim is not a political person or anti islam.he is just a normal village person.he is suffer by a islamic leader[bangla vhi] by the law of islam.i am a muslim.but i dont want to belive like this activities.and this what we are looking all around in my country.i am afraid.

as an example I don't believe, as you say or imply, that a sincere Muslim believes in the value of what is called "The holy war" neither appreciate this bloody killing made by fanatics and Bin Laden alike fans...
You also underestimate the power of persuasion of the Islamic leaders toward the masses, that can make them believe in fake perspectives, manipulating at art the Islamic original doctrine...
Overall when the original message of Islam is corrupted as it is today, misleading people, whether Muslims like it or not, this religion needs to be revise and depurated from the "fake" garbage added.
I'm talking only about the violent and intolerant part of modern Islam, obviously the rest of this religion will remain intact so that the sincere Muslim believer will perceive the core of the doctrinal and spiritual message still intact and finally purified according to the Sufi vision, which I like to remind was the cult that created and modeled Islam. Sufism never spoked about any "Holy war"against west civilization, about intolerance or worst about terrorism...
Plus as we know well, day by day, fanatical Islam is creating planetary trouble, so that this needs to be correct and fixed at any cost. The only way to do that will be through a strong coordinate effort between political leaders, spiritual leaders of West and East.
Islam needs to be rewritten to become acceptable by the modern world, in order to coming back to be a real "trustable" religion instead of a cult of fanatical intolerance and violence...

I agree with you, that unfortunately it will be kind of difficult or...impossible, cause of bullshit interests in the back...
But in my opinion it's the only way to really change things that otherwise won't ever be changed. A summit like that ( I don't see why can be a complicated issue to make it...) can be a real proof of a "real" sincere intention from our political and religious leaders to really change this threatening scenario...
Finally, to be practical, I believe that in reality it won't be difficult to eradicate from Islam intolerant and violent dogmas and doctrines. This doesn't mean at all the end of Islam as a religion but instead will imply a little redirection of perspective, which requires just "good will" from the Muslim political, spiritual and ideological leaders to let it happen!
