Scholarly Ceremonial approach to Magick versus the Intuitive shamanic approach and snobbery toward 'newbies'

I am of the latter type and have always been a psychic empath and natural witch, connected by an internal and born'knowing', and only later in life did I realize that other people weren't like me.I had a lot of traumatic events in childhood that led to my being very sensitive as well.My connection to the Goddess is powerful and enables me to access wisdom and information I would never be able to otherwise as it is beyond my own.I am very into connecting through nature and can merely look at people and actually feel what they are feeling and get information about them in my head.My boyfriend is into Ceremonial Magick utilizing correspondences based on Judeo Christian Kabbalistic and Classical attributions in a Golden Dawn style. Just to note, Crowley claims to have been once succesful in a magickal endeavor that utilized the recitation of "Ode to the West Wind", a surely more intuitive than CM way of performing ritual. Clearly a blending of the two ideologies is possible.

ON a semi-related topic: we have noticed that there is alot of snobbery and lack of respect from certain well-read individuals towards those who are more shamanic about their practices. Also, there is alot of "I am more Pagan than Thou" types who shun and look down on those new to these ideas and practices. If a person's intent and focus and belief in their endeavors is absolute, then their efforts may even be MORE effective than the "I've read every book" and practiced for 40 years person. How does everyone else feel about these topics?
