Hi there everyone.
I'm currently writing a dissertation for the final year of my art degree on the representation of the afterlife in Christianity compared with Neopaganism, as fun as that sounds, I'm really struggling with the Neopagan side of things as there are no spiritual texts or anything really to follow, so I'm fundamentally relying on primary research. I have a few questions I'm kind of scared to ask, incase I'm stepping on any toes but it would be great if I could get some answers from anybody who embraces the Neopagan faith :)
Again, I am terrified I insult anyone or something so please let me know., but any kind of response would be greatly appreciated! If you want you can email answers to hollycanflyy@hotmail,co.uk
Thanks! :)
Do you believe in souls? If so, what is a soul to you?
(if yes to above) What do you believe will happen to your soul when you pass away?
Do you embrace the doctrine of the Summerland? If so, what do you think it will be like?
(if yes to above) Is it fair to say the Summerland is the pagan equivalent to the Christian doctrine of heaven? If not, what is the difference?
Is there a pagan equivalent to hell? Do you believe in it?
How do you practice your religion as a pagan?
How do you associate with other pagans?
Do you believe in Karma? If so, How does karma work for you?
Who or what decides the gradients of good and bad within Karma?
Are there any points where your belief system agrees with Christian afterlife doctrines?
Are there any points where your belief systems oppose Christian afterlife doctrines?
