Wicca Wiccans Pagans and Free Souls.. live different.. be Neopagan!
Do you believe that we are ALL Neopagans ? ( ALL = the whole Human Race )
The primary meaning of my blog topic "Are we all Neopagans?" was to underline the legacy ( surely from a historical point of view ) from the various Pagan ancient cults.
Which means that all the various Pagan cults and major religions of the world are made and shaped by the previous Pagan ones, making us the new Pagans today, or The Neopagans !!!!
So that the way we perceive our "Pagan status" is a secondary issue for this discussion ...
Now that means, according to my thoughts: ALL of us, in my opinion, whether Pagans or Non Pagans ( better then to say the Whole Human Race ) are Neopagans!!!!
That means on this planet Earth there are different cults or religions differently approaching the Divine, but the people are all Pagans or Neopagans ( the new Pagans!!!! ).
Furthermore, one of my goals as the neopagan.com and Neopagan World community founder, is to better focus the whole Pagan picture from historical facts to cultual practices through spiritual beliefs.
Believe it or not, as I know that many of you know a lot about our roots, a lot of people are still in the limbo about it.
It is then for me of major importance to re-establish a "correct" point of view about what we are and why ...
This is a big and touchy issue for many of us who are rejecting or avoiding the roots and their historical implications. As an example, it won't be easier for a Christian to consider himself a derivative from pre-existant Roman Mithraism .... and so on ...
Especially if we need to realize that we are ALL Pagans in essence. No matter what we think or we perceive ourselves, we are following old paths that are our roots. Understanding this makes the whole picture legitimated and consequentially for us it will be much easier to live freely and legitimately in our Pagan status, magically enhancing our connection with the superior forces-energies.
So that being Pagan today, or Neopagan, is not to be seen anymore as "mark of a beast" or to be eccentric !!
Furthermore, it is really important for the confused neopagans and the rest of the world, to reestablish their historical roots in order to clarify their views and thoughts that are deviated, among other issues, mainly by incorrect use of history and manipulative and insincere religious propaganda !!
No matter how other fellow Pagans will think, whether it can be seen as relevant or not, I will devote part of my energies to this task: make clear where our roots are and why we are ALL Neopagans in essence and in real life !!!

A very thought provoking post, well done! I agree with you that all humans are somewhat pagan as many religions have there routes in paganism. I have always wanted too be pagan but due too lack of knowledge on how too pursue this i have never been able too truly become pagan. Reading your post however, has opened my mind too the fact that even though i may not be an actual pagan as of yet, i am still pagan in heart..

One peculiarity of a Pagan is to be a free spirit, then live your "paganism" as you like !...
I'm glad, also , that you catch the ball looking at the meaningful -"revolutionary" implications of my vision about historical FACTS that are undeniable. Facts that can radically change the reality of our everyday life ...

i love this post you have made. i wish more people would think like you, but we both know that will alway be the case of me wishing.The transitions between religions have alway put pagan people into hiding. none the less we are growing and one of the fastest growing religions worldwide today. our pagan backgrounds are well spoken through us, only we can find whats instore for us and our backgrounds. woman inmy family have held their heads high for many years even thosands and we never let down our roots, our ways of life. Matt you may think you may have never truly became a pagan but you are, your mind body and soul is in it. you seek more knowledge it's for the taking, autors like Raymond Budapest,Sybil leek,star hawk, Doreen Valiente and Silver RavenWolf. have shown many people it's not to late to feel the energies of the lord and lady. take the lady in your heart she beautiful our mother moon, the lord leader of humans and animals alike. take them in your heart learn from them. then you can truly be a pagan inside and out. even if you wish to see the god in a differnet way so be it learn from your way you see god. gods energy is the most beautiful feeling. blessed be

I agree that ironically most people are pagan in sprit. They belive in different things, but they all come from the form of paganism. I try not to "insult" people by saying this directly, but my friendly conversations with people of other religions always leave my heart filled with the joy of irony. If people aren't comfortable with knowing or wanting to belive that we are all Pagan, I have to understand that, as I certainly dont want to be mistaken to be a religion of that which I am not. but ya know, people love nature, are fascinate with space, see, hear, and feel things that are completely pagan...but to them, it's holy spirit etc., and we all know that just about every day of our lives, are ritualistic ;).

The word Pagan, from the Latin "Paganus", meant for our ancestors, a cult dedicated and connected to the Earth and fields, intended also as Universal forces. Furthermore symbolized, among many, by Gods and Goddess like Pan or Diana. So that Paganism was always intended as simple, practical but surely noble term...
It became a "non compliment", or better a derogatory and disrespectful meaning under the Christian era, as we know!
Regarding your sarcastic comments about me "walking on waters":
When I'm in my beloved old Rome, I adore to swim in the Thyrrenian sea. My specialty is to take a "wild" swim also in winter ( actually I just took a long swim today morning at 12,45 AM, the 21 December 08, in Ostia Lido !..), and sometimes, when I'm in good shape, I have fun disturbing little boat of fisherman, at a reasonable distance from the beach. Especially having fun, sometimes randomly at my best, in walking or joggin' in the deep waters! Obviously the sea water in Italy, at this time of year, its really cold!
Seriously, if you come to Rome, it will be my pleasure to invite you to participate in this "Mithraic" swimming ceremony !....
ps. Mr. Savage, from the tone of your reply and because of your diffuse pessimism, can you really describe yourself as a "genuine" Neopagan or a disenchanted Atheist?!....
